G.O.A.T or just goat ?

OK check the link here.

Its a photo of world's fastest man Usain Bolt arriving in Toronto a few days ago at Pearson airport just before his run here yesterday. In case you don't get the t-shirt and think its some crazy Chinese script caption tilt your head to a side and re-read the caption on the t-shirt.

Yes it does say Go F*** your-self.

Well my blog readers know I was all gaga about Bolt last year during the Olympics, got to big up the Caribbean man dem ya kno, so I'm not a hater here but the first thing I thought on seeing this photo was boy am I'm pretty happy I didn't fork out 75 -250 dollars plus to go see this dude run for 10 seconds last night as I had initially planned.

The second thing I thought was well maybe he's still trying to diss the IOC chair from last year for those silly comments at the Olympics and then the third thing was why on earth would he wear such a ridiculous t-shirt in public, arriving in Canada?

I mean I don't take it personally cause I would tell he bout he mudda and keep it stepping but seriously a world class athlete and supposed role model shouldn't be wearing something like this. Its just wrong and it can be construed as dissing your hosts and fans.

Mind you I've come to the conclusion after his silly comments about every young Jamaican having tried weed that for all his talent Mr Bolt is a lil dense; typical blessed with talent and natural ability athlete, possibly not the smartest.

But I wasn't going to take him to task for this cause I thought silly typical kid who knows no better but then I thought to myself one this dude is a "role model" and kids are looking up to him so this is just wrong and two if it was one of the strutting, arrogant American sprinters of recent ilk that we're all so familiar with doing this everybody and their momma would be taking them to task so why not Bolt? Its crass, its lewd, its not proper and I mean it could also be taken the wrong way if he was meeting anyone official at the airport that day as is likely the case.

I ain't saying we need to go back to the days when you arrived at the airport in three piece suit, I'm just saying the message on that shirt isn't fit for public consumption even if it was your common pleb like me wearing it instead of a celeb and Bolt should have shown better judgement or known better.

Yea someone paid you loads of cash to come to the T-dot and you are drawing people to the gate so we can make some money and all that but how about some grace and style and respect son.

Don't forget your financial success is based not just on your talent but also on your likability and marketability. Don't screw it up.

Guess we/the Jamaican/Caribbean people see him as an opportunity to get our region out to the international community...our talent, or drive...and to show we are not backwards cast offs from the slave ship...sigh...the T-shirt could set us back. He needs a PR representative. Some people should not be allowed on a frolic of their own...

...ahem...though I must admit..the T-Shirt is quite cleverly designed!

I felt a little foolish having tilted my head to read what the t-shirt said. I felt almost as if the shirt chastising me for being nosy. LOL.

Seriously though, he should have shown a little more tact. I agree with Afroditee when she says that he needs PR rep. He must really green, or really silly, or he must really don't care.

Y'know, it'd be one thing to wear the t-shirt as a cheeky putdown to all the botherations a star like he has to put up with on a daily basis. But if you squint at the plain engish print above the fake chinese, it says, "If you can't read Chinese, tilt your head to the right."

So it's actually CALLING ATTENTION to the "joke" just in case you missed it. It's in horrible taste and very immature if he gives even half an iota about his reputation. Where he mudda?

I was at the race (didn't have to pay tho) and I have it on good authority that, at least for that evening, Usain was not suffering toughish questions gladly. Mind you, it was all drizzly that night. Having to run (and risk injury) in the rain would not put me in a great mood either. But heavy is the crown and when, purposefully or thrust-uponly, he is repping a small nation with a paucity of quality, world-stage idols you'd think he'd do the little simple things better. He didn't *have* to wear that t-shirt.

He's already a legend in his time but he says he aspires to be the greatest ever. Adversity shows character, it doesn't develop it. So we'll see and pray for his childish ass.

Is it possible to find out who design Mr Bolt's shirt or where I can get a few to buy. Very poor taste by the way.
Also medium and extra large I have friends interested extra large. Again very poor taste.

De ICO and IAAF should sanction his silly ass for doing such dumb sh..e. He might not be a role model for many people but as a world class athlete, he should have better sense and taste. How on earth did his peoples allow him to travel with such a t-shirt. What is he trying to prove.

you think maybe he didn't realise? like maybe he didn't get it... i know i never get those weird pictures that look like a blob but are supposed to turn into jesus or an old lady if you stare long enough... so maybe he just didn't see the profanity...

or maybe it's like everyone else said - he made a moronic decision and needs to get a PR rep to choose his clothing and words... seriously... when is it ever okay to travel in a shirt like that? famous and beloved or not, there are kids on planes and in airports (i know there are - i'm sure i've seen them)...

Know what? To be fair, I did see Usain on TSN with that half-wit Michael Landsberg and he did pretty well. Wore a plain collared t-shirt and a totally different character for that interview; he was pleasant and gracious with that idiot. Next thing you know he's crashing his car doing high speed hijinx with some lady friend in he car.

Wild swings.
