The weather made a sudden change this past Tuesday. It wasn't unexpected though cause we've been fortunate to have had summer like temperatures all the way down to mid-October. Global Warming I guess. Thanksgiving Day (three Monday's ago) it was actually above 30 degrees Celcius, one of the warmest if not the warmest temperatures ever associated with that time of year.
So we been basking in sunshine and nice weather until last Tuesday when all a sudden the rain start pouring and the temperature drop by a good 15-20 degrees.
I always say this place don't have no proper temperature transition at all. One day ya in a t-shirt the next day you in a sweater and long johns bundle up shivering. That is why people duz get sick and by people I including myself as I hayso struggling with a cold again. Cuhdear!
Anyway one of the things that duz intrigue me about this time of year is how people dress. It cold but not yet winter and sometimes there is a tendency for it to be windy. Some people though seem not to want to give up on summer so even though it raining they walking around in their open toe shoes or short skirts. I cant understand that at all. And even worse is when you see someone in a short skirt or short pants and then they got on a thick thick jacket and sweater. So what they trying to tell we is their legs dont get cold or what? I cant understand that one.
Yesterday I see a fella dressed appropriately; long pants, shirt, leather jacket. Only thing was my man although wearing the jacket had the shirt unbutton down to his navel (like some of them old fellas back home in the Caribbean) showing off his hard bony chest. And when I say hard and bony I mean de man chest did look juss like a jucking board den. And it was cold and windy where I saw him too. Just cant understand the logic.
Maybe he was trying to impress somebody.

LOL!!! Jucking board!!! Wuhloss!! Bwoy, I did see a woman dis morning going to de GO train bundled up, but wearing sandals in 8 degree weather. It sent a shiver down my spine. I don't understand how people does do it. I wearing about four layers now.
It kills me around here when it gets to like 65 degrees and my people already have on bubble coats, hoodies, and skullies on. It's not that cold yet!
Some people can't wait to break out their winter fashion.
65 not cold? Well as a born and raised West Indian as soon as it drop below 73 I start wearing layers and carrying my hat everywhere I go. I am not playing with winter.
sometimes my legs really don't get cold.
in college I had a friend from St. Croix who used to wear her slippers in the dorm, and just throw on a jacket when she wanted to go to the cafe. I guess there's more blood in the feet and legs?
After I saw her do it, I tried it. It works.
We ahd a quick change here to. I don't mind so much as I'm better able to deal with the cold...and have a more extensive wardrobe for it. Due to some past trauma I don't need as many layers though.
U know de sayin': "Fashion knows no pain." MayB it's easier to look cool when dem cold!
i saw a winter coat and slippers today....
bony chest....there should be a rating system by which people are allowed to show off their chests.
There are no logics where fashion is concerned. I have seen quiet a few women here in Jamaica wearing fur boots up to their knees.
LOL @ juking board...
i hate how as soon as it's a little warm, you watch the news, and you see people playing volleyball on the beach in their shorts.
it's already november, so people need to let it go... summer's gone for 2007
lol@ juking board
it's a pet peeve of mine to see people in short skirts and heavy coats, and worse yet, the sandals in the freezing weather..
let it go.. summer has passeed.
You gotta suffer for fashion Jdid. I done the short skirt and sweater thing arready..lol
this is the time of year where the weather flipflop so much, you don't know what to wear. The same thing is happening here.
