Cineplexia

I went to the cinema yesterday to see the new James Bond movie. Its not as good as the last one but all in all its not bad either. Hadn't been to the movies since the summer so I was a bit surprised that the price of movies had gone up. Used to be $9.95 now its $10.50. I mean with the world as it stands with finances these days I thought they might encourage more people to come to the movies by lowering the prices not raising them. Cause movies is a luxury it aint no necessity so dem better be aware a that.

Anyway a while back I tell y'all how the airport duz be like a country unto itself. Well the cinema duz be the same way too. That is the only way I can explain how it is that the woman at the concession stand tell me a regular drink and a lil pack a M&Ms was $9.02.

Nine oh who? Alright then faget that I will have to do without. Cause fa $9.02 I could almost see anudda movie at that cinema, fa $9.02 I could go out in the mall and get a combo from almost any a dem fast food places, drink, fries and a sandwicj or burger. Fa $9.02 I could go to the bootleg fella cross the street buy 5 movies and still give TTC $2.75 to get back on the bus and guh home. No uh uh I keeping my $9.02.

But its always been so in Cineplexia, whichis my new name for the cinema since I feel them got their own charter and delare demselves an independent country. Was always so, is juss I forget that is so the movies duz go. Cause when I was younger I remember deliberately stopping at the convience store on the way to the movies to stock up on snacks cause the people in Cineplexia looking to bruk ya pockets.

I feel personally they should be offering we free food at the movies though cause dem should be counting their blessings any a we duz actually go to a movie these days what when you can get bootleg dvds of the latest release for a handful for a couple dollars.

Best not to bite the hand dat feeding ya I say.

You got some good points here, but sometime you do want to get out to the cinema, you know. Staying home to watch the movie can be downright ordinary! I like your idea of walking with your own food though. ;-)

People go still be dolling out the cash to them no matter how much they bite their hands, big screen is a nice thing, and they know it.

It is ridiculous, epecially since I can buy the same movie from my china-shop supplier fi cheap. God quality, too. Back in the day could go to the movies on a date and go home with money, but ppl cant afford dinner and a movie anymore...

I haven't been to the movies in a while myself. The last time was actually back in the summer. I almost never buy food at the cinema, for the same reason, too damn expensive. I prefer go out for dinner and then hit the later movies.

They charge you a foot and a leg for everyting in the Cineplex these days. I don't like going to those countries, I mean places. The last time I went was a few months ago in Summer. I was dragged to the Opening premier of Sex in the City in New York. Now normally the cineplex is bad but this was a nightmare. Tickets had to be bought weeks in advance, the had all these lines to enter just like Airport customs. I was like one of the few guys there so I felt like an illegal alien, all the ladies were dressed up in fancy clothes cause its Sex in the City, and yow when they open the door to the theater the was a stampede of young well dressed girls running through the doors because they all wanted the best sets. J.Did I want to take it a step further than calling it Cineplex, and call it Hell.

With the prices that they charge, the uniforms for all concession stand workers should be hoodies with bandanas over their faces.

I saw that movie
it was okay but the violence was killing me
lawks

anyway, we went to dinner before the movie--spent about 30 dollars for 2 steaks, an appetizer, a glass of wine, and a soda.

Yeah, movies really expensive. We have a new cineplex here which is around CI$10 admission.

Well, thats where Depression Glass came from: to try to get folks to go to the movies, they offered them these cheap ass glass plates, glasses, and other items.

You notice how this new Bond guy look a lil bit like Putin? I ain't see the first movie nor the second, an auntie told me that the second one is boooooring, no Bond-type romances, nothing. I like the old Bonds, Sean Connery and Roger Moore, them was smooooth operators, man.

I miss cinema, them fancy type ones with air-con, corn chips and melted cheese, it used to be my treat to me.

I would walk with my own snackies now though, with high prices and all.

I probably don't go to more than two movies per year. I would rather wait till they come to cable. In London I remember paying GBP16...never again!

Jdid - if I go 2 da cinema now, it has to be HARD... Like "Iron Man", that was money well spent! In Bim, it's $15 now, so most times I carry a haversack packed with roti or burgers and only buy a HUGE Coke.

Lemme put it this way, if you buy evvat'ing at de cinema...

3 ppl? $45

2 med & one lg drinx; 2 hot-dogs; one lg popcorn plus a candy-bar= $29

GRAND TOTAL= $74

So if I did that once a week, that's over $200 Bds clear - if I go and search for "those DVD's" then it's $10 ea! That's 20 disks, so wha' ya t'ink I gun do?

Airport food is for white people with no knowledge of the local economy dude. Eat up before you take off. As for movies, buying from the guy on the street is for amateurs. Download it!
