Tragedy!
Early Sunday morning, two complete apartments collapsed in Barbados, falling forty to fifty feet into a cave. A family of five was still not located up to Monday morning.
Never realized there were caves under that area to that extent. Wow!
Latest news report is that its no longer a rescue effort but one of recovery. Pretty sad way to lose one's life.

that is tragic. I wonder if it was limestone that got eroded.
Dear God. How horrible!
Did they know they were building on top of a cave? Sad to hear.
Terrible.
Jeez, that's awful.
SCARY
Without words! There was this story in teh Gleaner of a man who was digging to make a swinming poolin Mandeville and came upon a cave! Stalactyes, stalagmytes and all!!! I would be VERY worried about my house if I was him!! NO ONE had any idea caves were on that property or in that region!!!!
That is sooooo unfortunate.
I wonder if they'll look to see how far they stretch and what other properties may be in danger.
Chilling..I dont even like to think of it
And i wonder how town and country planning allows this stuff to go on- if that had happened here in canada, lawyers would be smiling all like now cos everybody from the government to the construction company getting sued, but in Bim.... stupse
It was very tragic, especially when they said that they'd stopped searching.
I followed this in our newspaper and kept thinking how my best friend is always grousing that people should never build too close to the ocean.
