I'm going to go out on a limb here--that was some sloppy reporting.
Aaron McGruder was paraphrased and not quoted directly. I'd like to know what McGruder actually said. Because there is a difference between Black and African American. All African Americans are Black. But not all Blacks are African American.
Wouldn't it be a little different if McGruder had actually said "Obama is not African American"?

Such an interesting comment GC. Cause I too don't consider myself an African-American. All of the ancestors are Caribbean and African. So I am an Afro-Caribbean or just simply black.
I do disagree with Mcgruder statement, because having a father who is Kenyan from the motherland, how much more black or African does he want Obama to be.
