First up, thanks for all the congrats and love shown on the last blog. Y'all made a brother feel all warm and fuzzy lol. And the misses says thank you too. She seems surprised that people actually like me but I explained that you guys probably don't know me well so she understands now lol.
'Hey guy, make sure they give you hazard pay'
'Ya kno!'
That was the conversation between my bus driver and his colleague driving the 116 this evening as we pulled out of Kennedy on my way home. It was a way of lightening the moment somewhat after a serious incident which occurred this weekend when a driver was shot in the eye by a stray bullet on that same route.
Its pretty sad actually. Here is a guy doing an honest day's work, providing a public service, and not troubling anyone and he gets caught up in someone else's drama. The result; the lost of an eye. The innocent paying for the sins of the guilty.
Its getting cold here, I thought the gun violence would subside a bit after summer ended but it seems like it may be here to stay. We could be looking at the new norm. How soon before shootings in the T-dot become as prevalent as those in some big cities south of the border and we become desensitized to them?
Quite a shame.
On another note. Yo, my domino bredren was on Jeopardy tonight and won. Knocked off the three day champ even though he clearly had buzzer issues. I know some folk who used to look down on us like we was riff raff when we was always licking sixes! Guh way! Dem never really know the man have superior intelligence and domino is just a stress relief ting. Let me see if those punks have enough sense to even reach Jeopardy let alone win. Big up Dominic! Respect! He'll be back on again tomorrow to defend.

There are a few jobs that are more dangerous than the average. Jobs that I wouldn't do for love nor money:
Cabdriver
Convenience Store Clerk
Bus/Streetcar Driver
Cop
Pizza Delivery
These are jobs that bring you tete d'tete with all and sundry, and some sundry might just shoot you for twenty bucks.
It's a dangerous world we live in due to the damn jackasses with guns. The violence is just increasing more n more everyday especially here in Ja.
Funny you should mention how a person providing public service can get caught up in the drama of gunplay and such. In fact, to piggyback radmila's comment, you would think someone like a police officer would have "the" most dangerous job. Nope. Cab Drivers, by a mile at that. I'm not shocked at this, but it is tragic because one should be able to picture a bus driver as a safe haven. Very sad man...
Sad to say breds but after seeing the news this morning I think we in for a hot winter because Bang ! Bang ! Welcome to "Real Toronto". That home made DVD glorifying the GUN in T.dot's neglected communities. Best ask the Father to walk wid you each time you step out
pitiful, nuhwey safe nowadays, no where or no jobs. Will that driver get satisfactory compensation for his injuries???
So Jdid yuh actually know people wid sense pun TV????
The wife is probably surprised because you have secrets JDid. Deep dark secrets at that. Let me search your blog for your 101 list. If I don't find it, then *ahem* you may need to do one. Check out mine when you get a minute.
Nowhere is safe...except behind Bush that man is so dense I don't think anything could get through.
The shootings in T-dot are definitely increasing. When I was in town for Caribana my mom kept calling me and telling me to not go to the club. I hope that bus driver can get a new job since he may not be able to drive a bus with one eye.
Hey JID!
Wa'goin'on?
Been busy busy busy, be back later tonight to read up, and catch up!
How sad the things that go on in the world.....I got fired today and it wasn't intended for me but someone else!! Go figure!
