Friday

Oh man what a week. Its been crazy so no time to blog although I've had some great blog ideas recently.

Anyway no time to really chat today either but I just wanted to ask how come no one talked about the earth quake in India/Pakistan? Are we all tradedied out? Or is it that it didn't strike close enough to home.

Did you realize that the homeless from this tragedy may actually outnumber the homeless from the tsunami?

And here's a question I just thought was relevant. What happens to the promised aid when another tragedy strikes. I mean countries have deep pockets but its not limitless so if 10 bil is promised for one tragedy but a greater tragedy arises does that means that they pull out another set of money for the other tragedy or do they sort of cut the first aid package. Just wondering out loud because I saw some reports saying that the promised aid to Grenada last year is still just that a promise in the wake of all the natural disasters we've had this year.

Oh and to follow up my last post on phones I just wanted to take a shot at technology in general. Isn't it funny how we've been conditioned to buy a whole bunch of stuff that is really unnecessary? I was referring to camera and video phones last post. This time its the Ipod which now has video. Don't get me wrong I think the Ipod is hot to death! (And if any of my rich blogging readers feel like giving me some gifts like some other bloggers get I aint going to say no.) Anything music related and I've got to stop for a pause. I also know I'm not spending 300 400 bucks on something that small as long as I've still got a discman to keep me company. But now the apple released an Ipod with video this week. I mean having a micro slim music player is cool but how cool is watching miniscule video? I mean last I checked dudes were showing off big screen tvs, no one wanted to watch your 7 inch screen they want the 52" and those type of I'm in the game experiences where you can almost smell the action.

Ipods with video are for posers cause no one can tell me that you are actually seeing with any real clarity any music video on a 1 or 2 inch screen.

Oh just to set it straight I'm not anti technology. I'm just trying to keep things in perspective. I used to be a true technology junkie but then I had a boss many years ago who was totally anti technology and I actually gleaned some sense from what he was saying. I didn't cross over to his way of thinking but it just put things I perspective so while I keep up on the latest I just usually have to ask myself well is that such a useful thing to have first before I go all goo-goo ga ga over it.

Have a great weekend. I'll try to drop a few blogs next week.

By the way was I the last person to hear about Buju going to court for apparently assaulting some dudes.

5 million ppl are left homeless from this earthquaqke.. that is essentially like saying toronto dont exist and the ppl of the city are just left with nothing. i have been active in gettin fund raising together and hope more people can help. I almost died when i first herad canada was going to give 300,000$ i was freaking out but now its upped to 20 mill and right now for whatever the canadian residents give the govenrment is matching that so i hope ppl give as much as you can.

I think people are feeling some compassion fatigue as horrible as that sounds. How much did we hear about Hurrican Stan that devestated Guatemala a truly poor country that needs help. It just seems like one disaster after another and when that happens it is like they blend into each other.

I love my ipod. Join the 21st centruy JDid...get rid of the discman ;-)

Dude, it's unbelievable how one natural disaster piggybacks another and then another. HOw sad and unfortunate. But you present a very good question. How is it that billions of dollars for disaster relief go into one disaster and then one other disaster of equal devastation or even more surpasses the billions that went to the former.

Where does all that money come from? And what a sick number of people homeless. This has got to be one of the worst years in natural disaster deaths. If it's not, it's damn sure up there. Take it easy man...

Yeah, Buju's off the chain man. Going around beating up gays. He's had a serious jones for them in slandering them every chance he gets..

My mother says the world is coming to an end!! All of these disaster's that are hitting us one after the next it makes one wonder!! WHAT NEXT!!

It's to much for the mind to comprehend, all those people left homeless it's just to much.

Is it my imagination?
Or are we getting more environmental disasters than we used to?
I think perhaps we're catching up with our abuse of the environment.
North America and Europe being some of the biggest wasters.
I mean, here in NA, you can air condition your doghouse ferFsake.

Bwoy, I didn't get much info on the quake or the earthquake. I think they happened during a busy period at work, (hence little surfing of the news sites) and during a period of heavy rains here which knocked out my sat. dish reception, so no TV news. Now that the dish is back, there is little news on either of these stories as far as I can see....
These people all need help though, you're right. I hope someone antes up with some money...

I was going to write a blog about that, but somewhere between my flood and elevator ordeal I totally forgot about it.

Yep another technology release to bruk our pockets!

Tragedied out? I think so. BTW, it seems like at the rate technology is progressing, we will always be tryign to keep up. I got tired a few years ago. Can you believe a don't own a DVD player??? I am p'oed because it appears as though Blockbusters is gonna make me get one!!! I know I can get one for like 40 bucks but...I am such a creature of habit.

I know. I'm a little late, but I hope you HAD a good weekend.

You know, I was thinking the same thing about the earthquake! I barely heard anything about it on the news. Down here, they are still taking about Katrina every 5 minutes and what would have happened if it hit us that hard. It seems like nowdays people are only focused on what effects them personally. It's sad.

I think it's screwed up that the U.S. government can find money to send to other countires all the time, but can't fund public healthcare and public education for the tax payers who fund the government.
